Knit Shirt Failure
So my first attempt at a shirt for Made by Rae’s Spring Shirt Challenge has failed.
I’ve made this shirt before, and I was never happy with the v-neck area on this Burda 8361. However, the previous knit fabric accepted my attempts and the shirt turned out great after all. This knit – not so much [...]
The Power of Paint or What Caused My Back To Ache
So this weekend, I painted the basement, ran 7.5 miles, and cleared out bushes from our yard.

I already have some shirt projects planned (in my head). So part of my “selfish sewing” plan is to make as many shirts as I can for spring and summer. With any luck, I’ll cute one out this week.
Placemats with Chalkboard Fabric
Okay – this was fun. It was a little tough to sew because you can’t use pins on chalkboard fabric, but it worked out well.
It’s so tempting to keep these for myself! (it’s a gift) The fabric is Michael Miller’s Modern Family. The other side is chalkboard fabric. And there is basic double-wide bias tape [...]
