One Skirt Finished – Simplicity 9825

I FINALLY finished Simplicity 9825, a basic A line skirt with some yoke detailing.

This was a super easy skirt to sew. I made it with a basic bottom-weight that has some nice pinstripes. There is a zipper in the back. This skirt can easily be sewn in one sitting … unless you have a toddler and it takes you 2 weeks. The directions are very easy to follow. And it’s really flattering, especially if your fabric has a little bit of stretch.
One word of warning. The short version of this skirt is very very short. This skirt pattern comes in 3 lengths, and I thought ‘Oh, I’ll just sew the short version and it will be long on me anyway.’ Nope … it was above my knee and I gave it a narrow 1″ hem so that I could still wear it to work.
I’m going to make another out of a burgundy bottom-weight with a similar pinstripe.

cute! I like the disclaimer about sewing with a toddler. SO TRUE!!
I’m making a skirt too – but a maternity one. Just copying one that I have and like. I hope it works out….
