I’m back! Hemming Silk Curtains
Posted on | February 21, 2010 | No Comments

A friend of mine had these gorgeous silk curtains made – but they were too short. Fortunately, there was enough fabric tucked into the hem to lengthen them.
A curtain hem is usually 4-6″ deep … but I was working with small amounts of additional fabric, and could only make a 3″ hem. To hide this, I decided to hand sew the hem shut. I prefer a blind hem, so if you can see the stitches in this photo, that’s the stitch I’m using.
I love working with silk!
